Have you worked at least one year full time in a hospital, ambulatory care setting, and/or Physician Practice and want to learn a new skill? As more providers switch to EHRs, the need to hire scribes to assist in decreasing the doctor’s computer time continues to increase the demand for scribes in the medical field. Working directly with providers to document requires a specific set of skills. Topics covered in this class include medical terminology, ICD 10, practical EMR practice, learning to write SOAP notes, and scribe roles and functions. To ensure success in this class and as a future employee, an assessment and application will be required before registration is completed. Computer/internet access is required. Students will be eligible to sit for the Apprentice Medical Scribe Professional (AMSP) certification through The American Healthcare Documentation Professionals Group. This is an exciting new program that will offer a guaranteed interview with Valley Health upon successful completion of the class and certification!
