Blueprint Reading Residential / Commercial

This class covers the basic principles of reading architectural blue prints for both residential and commercial construction.  Students will learn how to read and interpret plans, elevations, schedules, sections, and details contained in basic construction drawings.  They will also learn to identify architectural symbols and abbreviations, recognize the difference between commercial and residential construction drawings, identify selected electrical, mechanical, and plumbing symbols and how to calculate the floor area of each room in a floor plan. Scales and blueprints will be used in class.
