FastForward Eligible Program: To qualify for FastForward programs, you must meet the Virginia Domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia for at least one year and intend to stay indefinitely. A domicile determination form will be part of your registration process. If you qualify, you will pay one-third (1/3) of the cost of the program. Learn more about FastForward. COURSE PREREQUISITES: Must be at least 16 years old.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Have you been looking for a career in IT and don’t know where to start? CompTIA IT Fundamentals Prep and Certification is for anyone who doesn’t have a background in IT. This class will provide the basic terminology and principles to help prepare you for the next level of training. Topics covered will include computing, IT Infrastructure, software development, database use, installing software, establishing basic network connectivity, and identifying/preventing basic security risks. Exam and materials are include.

WHAT IS EXPECTED: CompTIA IT Fundamentals is a fast-paced course that will meet 4 times over the course of a month. Students should be prepared to study and practice outside of class time to be successful on the exam.
