This workshop is designed for middle and high school U. S. History I, civics/economics, Virginia history, and government teachers. Each teacher who attends the workshop receives a beautiful curriculum guide with classroom ready, engaging lessons that are SOL based with the latest SOL's, and that contain primary documents, creative "hooks", integrative use of technology, suggestions for struggling learners, advanced learners, AP and honors level. Moreover, there are classroom ready student handouts, video clips and suggestions for assessment and evaluation. But you don't have to take our word for it: you can see samples of our lessons on our website: The workshop will be presented by a master teacher, a sitting judge, two lawyers and our director. Afternoon snacks and drinks are provided for each attendee, thanks to a generous grant from the Virginia Law Foundation and the Byrd Family Foundation. Teachers who attend will also receive a signed certificate of participation that may be used for professional development credit. Laptops and other such devices are welcome!
