COURSE PREREQUISITES: HS Diploma or GED

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Pharmacy technicians play an important role in supporting pharmacists in hospitals, health systems, and community pharmacies. They serve the profession by working with pharmacists to offer safe and effective patient care. This course will focus on topics such as technician duties, patient confidentiality, dispensing and preparing of medications, medical terminology, pharmacy abbreviations, calculations, pharmacology of drugs, routes and formulations, medication safety, laws and regulations, and how to interpret prescriptions and labels. Due to the current situation, a portion of this class may be offered online. Therefore, computer/internet access is required for the course. Upon successful completion of the class, students will be prepared to sit for a national certification! The exam is included in the cost of the class. Register today!
